TNI 20th anniversary!

24 May 2011 - This month marks the 20th anniversary of The New Image (TNI). In 1991, TNI was born in cyberspace as the brainchild of its founder Patriek Lesparre. Using the TNI BBS as its base of operations, TNI participated in the semi-professional MSX scene of the 1990s, selling its wares at MSX fairs and working closely with groups such as Sunrise and Umax. In 1994, TNI expanded its cyberspace presence to the World Wide Web, which has been its primary hub since 1997.

Being one of the oldest entities in the MSX scene today, TNI has acquired massive amounts of knowledge on MSX software and hardware systems. Aside from the software TNI publishes itself, it also works behind the scenes to share its knowledge and skill with various MSX groups such as Relevo and Delta Soft. TNI was also instrumental in the rise of MSX Resource Center as a MSX community center, despite later being ousted for political reasons.

Always having been Japan oriented, The New Image started attending anime conventions in 2007. Now, TNI imports anime figures and figurines exclusively from Japan, selling them to fans at anime conventions. TNI trusts to be able to combine this activity with its (non-profit) MSX activities for many years to come.

Stay tuned for more announcements soon, as we celebrate 20 years of TNI and solidify our plans for the future!
